The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme

The IB Middle Years Programme is the learning framework for students in the Year 7 and 8 and the 9 and 10 Village. Santa Maria has been an authorised provider as a global school since 2014 and in 2020 has undergone evaluation. Within this internationally recognised program students develop:

problem solving skills individually and in collaboration with others
skills to critically integrate technology and other resources into their learning
respect for other cultures and ideas
links between learning and real life
an understanding of their role as global citizens

The content of the MYP follows the Victorian Curriculum (Year 7-10) while the delivery is reflective of the IB Framework.

The MYP creates a platform from which our students confidently launch into their senior years of schooling with a suite of skills that prepare them for success in future study and the workplace.
