… arrange everything so that the strong have something to yearn for and the weak nothing to run from (Rule of Benedict, 64:19).

Santa Maria College is a Year 7-12 Catholic College for girls, founded by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan in 1904. Our educational endeavours seek to nurture a search for truth, a spirit of inquiry and a deep love of learning.

The life and teachings of Jesus energise our community and permeate all that we do. The parable of the Good Samaritan with its spirit of welcome, love, service and compassion gives a particular emphasis to the way we live out our Gospel challenge in this community.

We celebrate our diversity by developing critical social awareness and a reverence and responsibility towards all creation. In this educational environment we strive to nurture an atmosphere of trust and hope where our students are accepted, affirmed, encouraged and challenged to grow to their full potential.
